Packing for your holiday can be stressful - there's so many variables to consider... but have you ever thought about taking a capsule wardrobe with you?
I usually always over-pack, taking numerous pieces of clothing that I just don't end up wearing. So, for my most recent holiday, I decided to only take a few items that easily fitted into a cabin bag (and with space to bring stuff back!).
I religiously checked the weather forecast leading up to the departure date, but it was very changeable, from 25c one day to dropping to 16c and rain the next day, which made packing that little bit harder. I ended up taking:
- A dress
- A jacket
- A scarf/wrap
- Two pairs of jeans
- A nightie
- Basic toiletries
- Pair of Superga shoes
To be honest, even that was too much for 5 nights!
My top tips for creating the perfect capsule holiday wardrobe is to:
Make sure you keep to the same colour palette.
Make sure you can mix and match most, if not every item.
Take clothes you're comfortable in, especially for when you're travelling.
You can't go too wrong with organic, natural fabrics.
Plan what you take in advance. That way, you won't be in a panic and will avoid packing unnecessary items.
If you're not sure, don't pack it!
If you're interested, I got the dress from Thought Clothing, the cream jacket is from Henri London, the tees are from Rapanui, shoes are from Superga and the jeans are years old from Zara (used and mended multiple times).
