I don't know about you, but I always seem to run out of toilet roll! It's one of those products that I just seem to forget about, and then have to do a mad dash to my local corner shop to replenish. In my quest to keep finding ethical and sustainable products, I thought I'd give "Who Gives A Crap" a try, especially as they offer a free trial box. In this, I got a roll of bamboo blend paper towels, 100% bamboo tissues (not photographed), two rolls of recycled toilet paper and one roll of 100% bamboo toilet paper. One of the first things I noticed is that the packaging is completely plastic free (bar a small amount of Sellotape on the box). It's proved very hard to find sustainable toilet paper that isn't wrapped in plastic - sigh... So it's great to find these guys! The next thing I noticed is how soft each roll is, even compared to "standard" toilet paper. You can't even compare it to the recycled rolls I normally buy. As if that isn't good enough they also donate 50% of their profits to charity. These charities include: WaterAid, Sanergy, Shining Hopes for Communities and Lwala Community Alliance. For someone as forgetful as me, they provide a subscription where they will send one box every few weeks, so I hopefully won't run out anytime soon!
