Fashion Revolution held an event at the Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising in London during Fashion Revolution Week (FRW). I've been looking forward to this event the whole week, and was so excited when I woke up that morning - so much so I woke up at 6am! Although I wasn't lucky enough to stay the entire day, I did manage to speak to many of the brands, makers and suppliers that were there. Here's a list of some the people I managed to speak to: BeloHaving spoken to Char, one of the founders of Belo, on Facebook prior to the event, I made it my mission to find her first! Belo was started by three friends, Char (UK), Cami and Maria (both Brazil) after deciding to take their long-distance friendship that one step further and start Belo. Belo is a for profit company that believes in making high quality accessories made in Brazil, with a mantra of paying fair wages and using sustainable (often re-purposed) materials to create stunning pieces. They are socially conscious and they donate plates of food to a charity, Case De Maria, who feed the homeless. Kashka uses ethical silver which is registered with Fairmined, which is linked to companies house to enhance accountability. Each piece of silver can be traced back to its origin: the artisan and small communities who had mined it responsibly and, as such, have benefited from the social development and environmental protection encouraged by their mining associations.
