Fashion Revolution is a GLOBAL movement that runs all year long... Their mission:
"We want to unite people and organisations to work together towards radically changing the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed, so that our clothing is made in a safe, clean and fair way. We believe that collaborating across the whole value chain — from farmer to consumer — is the only way to transform the industry. Our mission is to bring everyone together to make that happen." This year Fashion Revolution week, #whomademyclothes, is been held from 23-29th April; and has over 1000 events across the globe - how phenomenal is that?! Unfortunately, tomorrow, 24th April is the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, where 1138 people were either killed or injured. So, it couldn't be more of a fitting time to spread the word. During this week, brands and producers are encouraged to respond with the hashtag #imadeyourclothes and to demonstrate transparency in their supply chain. I will be attending as many events as I can and will be blogging as I go! I hope to see you there :D (To find out more, please visit their website: fashion revolution.org) Jemma
